Royal Caribbean — 8 Day Cruise
Florida → Labadee → San Juan → St Martin → St Kitts
An 8-day cruise out of Fort Lauderdale. Labadee in Haiti, San Juan in Puerto Rico, St. Martin (the Grand Case side, where the photos are best), St. Kitts, and a couple of sea days.
Royal Caribbean was the operator. I had the per-day photo organization down by this point — separate albums for each port and each sea day, color-coded the same way. Discipline.
The trip ended on a Wednesday and that Thursday I got my official Hong Kong transfer date from work: July 1st. HR and Legal were already writing up the agreement. I told a few friends and they couldn't believe I was actually moving to HK. Standing on a Caribbean balcony getting the news that my next year was going to be on the other side of the planet — that's the kind of week the cruise ends up framing in retrospect.
